At the Clayton County Senior Services Department, a division of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, we are passionately committed to enhancing the lives of our senior community through a wide range of services and programs. We take immense pride in extending a warm invitation to visit any of our three dynamic senior centers: the J. Charley Griswell Senior Center in Jonesboro, the Frank Bailey Senior Center in Riverdale, and the Sonna Singleton Gregory Senior Center in Ellenwood.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to providing essential services to our aging population through the Aging Program in Jonesboro, and we offer invaluable support to grandparents raising grandchildren through our Kinship Care Resource Center. Our Flint River Community Center also provides diverse programs catering to all age groups. We eagerly anticipate your visit to one of our centers, and we can’t wait to welcome you with open arms!

Caregivers Symposium
The Caregivers Symposium is an educational and supportive event designed for individuals who provide care to loved ones, whether they are aging parents, spouses, or others with special needs. Vet Connect
Clayton County Vet Connect is an initiative aimed at supporting and connecting veterans in Clayton County, Georgia, with essential resources, services, and community networks. The event brings together veterans, service providers, and local organizations to address the unique needs of those who have served in the military.
Vet Connect offers a variety of services, including assistance with accessing veterans’ benefits, healthcare resources, job placement, housing support, and educational opportunities. It often features informational booths, workshops, and one-on-one consultations to help veterans navigate the various programs and services available to them. In addition to practical support, Clayton County Vet Connect provides an opportunity for veterans to connect with one another, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community. Mayfest
The Clayton County Senior Services Annual Mayfest is the largest Older American Month Celebration in the Southern Crescent! This event is dedicated to honoring and engaging the senior community, typically taking place in May. Mayfest features a variety of activities designed specifically for older adults, including health screenings, fitness demonstrations, and informational booths that provide valuable resources and services for seniors.
Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment, including music and dance performances. The event often includes opportunities for seniors to connect with local businesses and organizations that cater to their needs. With a focus on health, wellness, and community. Mayfest is a beloved tradition that brings together Clayton County seniors and the broader community for a day of fun, learning, and celebration.
Clayton County Senior Ball
The Clayton County Senior Ball is an annual event hosted by Clayton County Senior Services, and partnering cities designed as a glamorous and enjoyable evening for seniors in the community. This formal event features live music, dancing, and elegant dining, providing an opportunity for older adults to dress up, socialize, and celebrate in style.
The Senior Ball often includes a variety of entertainment, such as a live band or DJ playing a mix of classic hits and contemporary tunes, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy on the dance floor. The event features themed decor, photo opportunities, and sometimes even a crowning of a Senior King and Queen, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This event is a highlight of the year for many seniors, offering a chance to reconnect with friends, make new acquaintances, and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. The Clayton County Senior Ball is not only a celebration of the senior community but also a testament to the vibrant and active lifestyles of its participants.
